Job Details Specialty: Labor & Delivery RN Employment Type: Travel RN / Travel Nurse Job Setting: Hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit Location: Frederick, MD 21701 Contract Length: 19 weeks Start Date: September 2, 2026 End Date: January 13, 2027 Shift: 12-hour nights Hours Per Week: 36 Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130-$2,250 Schedule Notes: Rotating holidays and weekends; block scheduling is not available Job Requirements Minimum 3 years of current, strong Labor & Delivery RN experience OB Triage experience required Previous travel nursing experience required Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license in hand at time of submission Active fetal monitoring certification required: C-EFM preferred; AWHONN Intermediate accepted with C-EFM required if extension reaches 1 year or more Certifications preferred/required for the role include ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Advanced, and fetal monitoring credentials Must be comfortable working weekends and two of the three winter holidays At least 1 year of acute care nursing experience is required; this role requires significantly more specialized experience Responsibilities Provide safe, compassionate care to laboring patients from admission through postpartum transition Support OB triage, labor management, and postpartum recovery workflows Circulate for C-sections and collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary obstetric team Monitor fetal status and respond appropriately to changes in maternal or fetal condition Deliver patient education and emotional support to patients and families throughout the birth experience Maintain accurate documentation using the facility’s charting workflow Adapt to a modern unit environment with state-of-the-art equipment and a strong focus on family-centered care Contribute to a collaborative team that values safety, communication, and excellent patient outcomes Why Apply for This Maryland Nursing Job?
