Family Nurse Practitioner

APP Position at Tanner Health's Primary Care of CarrolltonWe are seeking an APP for Tanner Health's Primary Care of Carrollton practice. The provider will join a multi provider team of physicians and other APP's and report to the Executive Director of the Primary Care of Carrollton practice. Primary Care of Carrollton is part of Tanner Medical Group which consist of 42 individual practices and has approximately 270 total providers.This APP will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide services for patients with Primary Care issues in the clinic under the purview of the supervising physicians. He/she will collaborate with other providers while conducting physical exams, diagnose and treat acute and chronic issues, order and interpret diagnostic test including lab work and imaging studies, provide education and counseling to patients while maintaining medical records via EPIC EMR.Note: This job summary is not intended to be all-inclusive. The employee may be required to perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.Position RequirementsMonday – Friday 8am-5pmNo Call responsibilitiesJob Eligibility RequirementsEducationCompleted Physician Assistant program in good standing or Master of Nursing with specialization in Nurse PractitionerCertification/LicenseCurrently hold or be able to obtain a Georgia Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant LicenseCurrently hold or be able to obtain a Board Certification as Nurse PractitionerExperienceOpen to New graduates or candidates with experience in related Primary CareQualificationsAble to communicate effectively with medical and hospital staff and various populations in clinics and public screening events.ACLS recommended.Additional certification will be required for some specialties (i.e. ACLS, PALS)Graduate of a recognized Physician Assistant program.Must be capable of dealing tactfully and effectively with patients, family members, other employees and physiciansMust maintain high degree of confidentiality.Must meet credentialing criteria.Must possess the cognitive ability to understand patient medical records, physician orders and medical orders to be communicated to patient, hospital and/or other physician.Must possess the sense or discipline to work in accordance with accepted clinical standards.Prior experience in a like specialty preferred.
