Project Setup Analyst

The Project Setup Analyst will be responsible for accurately and responsively setting up and maintaining projects in Deltek Costpoint system for new and existing contracts. Project maintenance responsibilities include project structure, contract modification, billing, revenue, project labor category, amongst other attributes in Costpoint Project Module. The analyst will review the forms provided, engage with business partners as needed, make maintenance updates, and ensure proper documentation is retained for future reference and audit. This position is a local remote-telework role, the selected candidate must live within a 3-hour driving distance to our Reston, VA or Fort Worth, TX Amentum office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project setup and maintenance in the Projects Module of Deltek Costpoint; ensuring accurate setup in concert with published guidance and procedures

• Coordinate with business partners to ensure effective setup and clear communication

• Generate reports and perform analytical reviews in excel

• Ensure projects are created and maintained in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls, company policies, and outlined procedures

• Maintain organized, audit-ready records and forms for all areas of responsibility on the team’s SharePoint based document repository

• Assist in the collection and preparation of documentation for audits

• Performs other duties as assigned

Key Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge base in Deltek’s Costpoint Projects Module with a deep understanding of projects, accounts, orgs, billing & revenue formulas, and project labor categories

• Ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization

• Proficiency with Microsoft applications, particularly Excel and SharePoint

• Exceptional analytical and logical ability

• Innovative, strategic, and critical in their approach

• Practical knowledge of the US Defense Contracting industry regulations and rules

• Strong documentation capabilities

• Excellent organizational skills

• Strong communications skills

• Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects/requests simultaneously

• Understanding of general business principles and practices, and experience working in a corporate setting

• Candidates should demonstrate curiosity, adaptability, and the ability to learn new technologies quickly, including leveraging AI to automate repetitive tasks, synthesize information, improve communication, and accelerate problem solving while maintaining human judgment and accountability.

• Candidates should be comfortable assessing new AI-enabled tools and processes, identifying practical use cases, validating outputs, understanding limitations/risk, and incorporating AI responsibly into day-to-day work.

• Candidates should have experience using AI tools to enhance workflows, productivity, decision-making, customer experiences, business outcomes, or operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Typically, Three (3) years of Project Setup experience in Deltek’s Costpoint with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. One year of experience can be substituted for each year of a college degree.

• US Citizenship is required

• Travel is not required for this role

Desired Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Experience in government contracting environment

• Familiarity with FAR/DFARS cost accounting standards

Compensation Details:

$71k-90k
