Speech Language Pathologist - Outpatient Feeding & Swallowing- Bos | Boston Childrens Hospital
Key Responsibilities
Comprehensive assessment of pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders in the outpatient setting with patients from birth to early school age years with complex medical diagnoses
Assessment and management of patients with oropharyngeal dysphagia in the Center for Airway Disorders and other multi-disciplinary medical clinics
Performing instrumental assessment of swallowing, including Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies
Providing family education and case coordination
Completing documentation related to feeding and swallowing assessment and treatment
Working in close collaboration and partnership with physicians, speech-language pathologists, and other health care professionals
The opportunity to provide feeding therapy services with program expansion
Minimum Qualifications
Education: A Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology
Experience: 1-3 years of directly related clinical experience in pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders is required. Strong clinical fellows may be considered.
Licensure/Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence (ASHA) A current Massachusetts state license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist
Ability to work collaboratively with inter-professional teams in a fast-paced medical environment. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Commitment to professional education. Effective oral and written communication skills. Dedication to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and educating future leaders in the profession.
