Director of Sales

Job description: Job Title: Director of Sales Location: Sheraton Augusta Hotel Property Size: 150 Rooms + Meeting & Event Space Position Summary: The Hotel Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth through strategic sales efforts targeting corporate, group, and event business. This role focuses on maximizing occupancy, meeting space utilization, and overall profitability for a 150-room full-service hotel with meeting and event facilities. The ideal candidate is results-driven, relationship-focused, and experienced in hotel sales within a competitive market. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve and exceed revenue goals for rooms, meetings, and events Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities including corporate accounts, group bookings, and social events Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients, local businesses, and key accounts Conduct site tours, client presentations, and sales calls (both in-person and virtual) Manage RFPs, proposals, contract negotiations, and closing of group and event business Collaborate with revenue management to optimize pricing, inventory, and forecasting strategies Partner with marketing to promote hotel offerings, packages, and special promotions Work closely with operations and events teams to ensure seamless execution and high guest satisfaction Attend industry events, networking functions, and local business meetings to generate leads Maintain accurate records in STR systems and provide regular sales reports and forecasts Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred 3+ years of hotel sales experience, preferably in a full-service or branded hotel environment Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets Strong knowledge of group sales, corporate accounts, and event planning processes Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills Proficiency with hotel sales systems (e.g., Delphi, Lightspeed, or similarCi-Ty /PMS tools) Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Key Competencies Results-oriented with strong closing skills Relationship building and networking Strategic thinking and market awareness Time management and multitasking Customer-focused mindset Compensation & Benefits Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Employee travel discounts Professional development opportunities Job Type: Full-time Work Location: In person #J-18808-Ljbffr
