Classified Positions

Summary and Relationship to the Curriculum: All classified positions will strengthen the delivery of instruction to support the District's mission. This position assists in providing safe and timely pupil transportation services to and from school.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assists the bus driver with the safety, movement, management and care of the students while boarding the bus, leaving the bus and being
2. Ensures proper loading and securement of wheelchairs and other equipment as required.
3. Maintains student behavior on the bus and communicates with parents as Refers infractions to the appropriate personnel.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

1. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

1. Language Skills: Must have ability to read and comprehend job specific technical information, simple instructions, short correspondence, memos and position specific manuals. Must have ability to write correspondence and reports. Must have ability to effectively articulate and present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

1. Mathematical Skills: Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

1. Reasoning Ability: Must be able to facilitate the problem solving processes. Must have ability to synthesize workable options from given facts, and assist in the development of workable solutions.

1. Technical Ability: Must have considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office and other job specified technologies.

1. Customer Service Skills: Must be able to interact effectively with colleagues, administrators, teachers, staff members, students using tactful yet effective skills. Must collaborate well with others and display a cooperative attitude. Must be service oriented and actively seek ways to assist others.

Professional Requirements: Must serve as a role model to students. Appropriate dress and grooming consistent with established standards required.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Frequent travel involves exposure to traffic and outdoor elements.

Travel to home sites, school sites, and other locations is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently working in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
