Job Overview Department: 36343 Aurora St. Lukes South Shore – Interventional Radiology Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours Per Week: 40 Schedule: Five 8‑hour days a week with call every 3 weeks and holidays. Pay Range: $38.20–$57.30 Key Responsibilities Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process. Use evidence‑based practice, clinical decision‑making, compassion and skilled communication to create the safest patient environment and best patient experience. Assess patient needs, plan and implement individualized interventions and evaluate the effectiveness of the care plan. Include patient and family in planning and implementing care, and maintain a therapeutic relationship throughout the continuum. Anticipate and recognize significant changes in the patient’s condition, status, and need for care, providing ongoing assessment and taking appropriate actions. Adjust the plan of care as needed, mobilize appropriate resources, and collaborate with other health‑care team members to coordinate patient‑centered care. Implement strategies to reduce patient risk and increase patient safety. Assess patient and family readiness to learn, and individualize the educational approach. Coordinate the discharge plan using an interdisciplinary approach. Apply evidence‑based practice and nursing/regulatory standards of care. Evaluate unit outcomes and take appropriate action when changes are needed. Support shared governance activities and initiatives to improve processes and patient outcomes. Demonstrate effective communication, feedback and conflict resolution skills; promote collaboration among team members. Assume a leadership role in the care team, delegating appropriately to unlicensed personnel. Promote a culture of safety by identifying threats and intervening to prevent patient harm; report safety events and near misses promptly. Seek and contribute to corrective actions for potential safety issues. Apply ethical decision‑making, demonstrating respect for peers and other clinical disciplines. Participate as an effective member of the care team to formulate an integrated, unbiased, individualized approach to care. Participate in quality and process‑improvement initiatives to enhance department functions and patient experience. Engage in professional activities that foster personal development and the development of others, seeking mentorship and coaching. Attend required meetings and educational programs, completing annual competencies in a timely manner. Licenses & Certifications Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA). Degrees Completion of an accredited or approved program in Nursing. Required Functional Experience Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing. Proficient computer skills, including electronic mail and electronic medical records systems. Excellent communication (written and verbal), listening and interpersonal skills. Certification Addendum Maintain annual educational requirements for hospital‑based certifications (e.g., DNV, CARF or others).
