Medical Assistant

*Job Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and administrative support in various medical settings. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient service skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

*Duties*

* Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
* Administering vaccines, performing EKG's, ear irrigation (cerumen removal), blood draw and POCT (flu/covid, rapid strep testing).
* Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and ensure compliance with medical coding standards, including ICD coding.
* Provide support in various specialties such as internal medicine, endocrinology, and geriatrics.
* Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment.
* Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care effectively.
* Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
* Assist with patient inquiries through different modes of communication (telephone, in-person or patient gateway).
* Assist patients with scheduling appointments and hospital imaging tests.
* Assist with obtaining prior authorizations, and insurance referrals.

*Qualifications*

* *Previous and current experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred; no less than 1 year experience is required.*
* *EPIC* *experience is strongly preferred*.
* Must have an *Active* Medical Assistant Certificate.
* Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to various specialties is a plus.
* Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
* Ability to perform basic clinical tasks such as intake procedures and vital sign measurements competently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
