Senior Financial Accountant

This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the Imdex financial records, managing month-end close processes, and supporting strategic financial decisions. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-impact initiatives and help drive our company’s financial health and performance. ACCOUNTABILITIES & EXPECTED OUTCOMES General Ledger Accounting Manage and oversee the general ledger and all transactional activity supporting the accounting operations. Areas of responsibility include fixed asset coordination and tracking, leased assets reconciliations, inventory, Intercompany and prepaid asset accounting as well as all other assigned technical accounting areas. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Coordinate month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Reconcile complex accounts and resolve discrepancies. Coordinate audits and prepare the required documentation for internal and external auditors. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Support tax filings and liaise with external tax advisors. Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff. EXPECTED OUTCOMES Region and group reporting timelines and deliverables are completed efficiently in accordance with the timetable and to the required quality. Technical accounting assessments are completed to a high quality, providing sound technical accounting analysis together with pragmatic and commercial considerations. Review of regional tax effect accounting submissions and preparation of the group tax computation and proof. EXPECTED OUTCOMES Tax effect accounting process runs efficiently. Accuracy of tax balances, “no surprises”. Finance governance Support region finance governance activities, including the implementation of appropriate Finance policies and fit for purpose governance process. EXPECTED OUTCOMES Appropriate level of governance in place to support accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. “No surprises” in audit findings. Enhancement of financial reporting Works with the ERP support team and broader finance team to ensure the required reporting can be efficiently produced from the underlying ERP. Supports the enhancement and automation of external reporting deliverables. EXPECTED OUTCOMES Group external reporting deliverables are completed efficiently in accordance with the timetable and to the required quality. Poor performance issues addressed in a timely manner. Supporting team members to create and action development objectives. HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT Utilizing resources to establish, implement, maintain, and improve the Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) management system. Ensuring risk management activities are conducted within area of responsibility, including the identification and implementation of any site-specific measures required to eliminate or reduce risk in their area. Ensuring employees are provided with the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), instruction, information, training, and supervision to enable work to be carried out safely. In consultation with the QHSE Representative, developing and implementing an injury management program for injured employees. Completion of hazard and aspect identification and elimination/reduction programmes for team. Regular workplace inspections conducted. Safety meetings conducted. Site activities comply with workplace health, safety, and environmental legislation and the IMDEX QHSE management system. Employees and QHSE Representatives are consulted with regarding any QHSE issues and performance. Quality alert system is utilized to initiate and respond to QHSE issues. RISK AND COMPLIANCE Leading the collaborative identification of risks and compliance requirements relevant to the team. Ensuring the compliance of team members with IMDEX risk and compliance policies, local laws and other relevant standards. Promoting the reporting of potential non-compliance or misconduct through appropriate channels. Leading by example to promote positive risk and compliance behaviors to the team and to colleagues. Applicable risk management and regulatory compliance processes are implemented by the team. Behaviors that do not align with the IMDEX Code of Conduct are challenged. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience preferred (internships or entry-level roles count!)
