Human Resources Coordinator

College Medical Center Phoenix (CMC Phoenix) offers an HR role centered on keeping people operations running smoothly. As a Human Resources Coordinator onsite in Phoenix, AZ , you will help maintain accurate employee records, support recruiting coordination, and drive timely onboarding administration while handling sensitive personnel information with discretion. In this position, you’ll provide dependable support to the Human Resources Department across core administrative processes. You will schedule interviews and onboarding activities, manage HR files and databases, and complete required hire documentation, including I-9 forms. The role also supports background check and employment screening steps, while assisting with HR projects tied to employee engagement and benefits open enrollment. Responsibilities Support the effective operation of HR functions, processes, and day-to-day coordination. Maintain accurate employee records and keep employee files organized, including scheduling interviews and onboarding new employees. Provide reliable backup to HR staff. Deliver administrative support such as new hire onboarding coordination, data entry, file management, and general office duties. Maintain and update employee files and HR databases actively and timely to ensure accuracy and completeness. Assist with internal recruitment and onboarding, including onboarding and screening, attending job fairs to support the Recruiter, and assisting with internal job postings and promotional opportunity qualifying. Coordinate background checks, license verification, fingerprinting verification, and arrange employment screening appointments. Complete I-9 forms for new hires and recertifications. Support HR projects and initiatives including employee engagement programs and benefits open enrollment. Prepare and distribute HR documents as needed. Maintain integrity, discretion, and confidentiality when handling sensitive staffing and personnel information. Represent the hospital professionally in interactions with staff, patients, and external partners. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Human Resources support role. Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in human resources. Strong understanding of Arizona labor laws , wage and hour regulations, and workforce management best practices. Ability to manage multiple tasks accurately and on time while answering incoming telephone calls and inquiries. Skill in maintaining up-to-date employee files and ensuring prompt filing. Strong follow-up skills with employees on leave to support HRBP. Ability to research information and provide written reports of data and special projects as requested by the Director.
