Senior Attorney & Legal Team Lead (Public Agency)

Attorney I Salary: $91,404.00 – $128,028.00 Annually Responsibilities: Provide legal advice and support for the Sacramento Regional Transit (SacRT) in advisory, transactional, litigation, and other legal matters as assigned by the General Counsel. Gather and interpret data, and meet and correspond with SacRT staff and third parties to elicit information and discuss relevant concerns. Conduct legal research and prepare analyses, memos, pleadings, contracts, and other documents. Prepare materials for presentation to the Board of Directors, courts, and other entities; appear before state and federal courts and tribunals. Prepare memoranda, opinions, and recommendations in response to requests for legal advice by District staff. Qualifications: Juris Doctor degree or equivalent from an accredited law school; substitution of experience for required education is not accepted. No prior experience required. Valid California State Bar License (applicants awaiting bar results will be considered). Attorney II Salary: $111,672.00 – $156,300.00 Annually Responsibilities: Provide legal advice and support in advisory, transactional, litigation, and other matters as assigned by the General Counsel. Gather and interpret data, meet and correspond with staff and third parties, and conduct legal research. Prepare legal analyses, memos, pleadings, contracts, and other documents; prepare materials for the Board, courts, and other entities. Appear before state and federal courts and tribunals; prepare memoranda, opinions, and recommendations. Qualifications: Juris Doctor degree or equivalent from an accredited law school. A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience as a practicing attorney, preferably in public agency law and/or civil litigation, or a minimum of two (2) years as an Attorney I with SacRT. Valid California State Bar License. Attorney III Salary: $141,348.00 – $197,868.00 Annually Responsibilities: Provide legal advice and support for complex advisory, transactional, litigation, and other legal matters as assigned by the General Counsel. Gather, interpret, and analyze data; conduct legal research and prepare detailed legal analyses and documents. Prepare and present materials to the Board, courts, and other entities; represent SacRT before state and federal courts and tribunals. Prepare memoranda, opinions, and recommendations; exercise judgment and initiative while handling legal matters. Qualifications: Juris Doctor degree or equivalent from an accredited law school. A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience as a practicing attorney, preferably in public agency law and/or civil litigation, or a minimum of two (2) years as an Attorney II with SacRt. Valid California State Bar License. Senior Attorney Salary: $161,136.00 – $225,588.00 Annually Responsibilities: Lead and supervise attorneys while providing legal advice, support, and representation in the most complex advisory, transactional, litigation, and other legal matters as assigned by the General Counsel. Supervise and mentor staff attorneys, provide guidance on legal matters, and ensure high-quality legal services. Represent SacRT in state and federal courts and tribunals; prepare and present legal arguments, opinions, and recommendations. Coordinate with executive management and other departments on legal issues, as required. Qualifications: Juris Doctor degree or equivalent from an accredited law school. A minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience as a practicing attorney, preferably in public agency law and/or civil litigation, or a minimum of three (3) years as an Attorney III with SacRt. Valid California State Bar License.
