Then join us in North Grafton, MA!What You'll DoThe Maintenance Mechanic will work directly with, and report to, the Maintenance Foreman and the Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, servicing, and repairing industrial machinery in an abrasive manufacturing plant to ensure a safe and effective production environment. This position is -1st Shift: Hours are: 7:00am-3:00pm, Monday – Friday; with occasional hours required on Saturdays.Inspect, diagnose, and perform necessary repairs of defective or worn components of crushers graders, mills, kilns, cranes, and other industrial machineryPerform preventative maintenance and routine repairs of all equipment contained on siteResponsible for the overall performance of equipment and vehiclesOperate machine tools, including drills, saws, welders, hand tools, and cutting toolsBe available for on-call duty requiredPerform other necessary duties and projects as assignedWhat You'll NeedTo be successful in this position, you must:Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, Trade School a plusHave the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., walk, stand, bend, and climb for most of the dayBe able to operate various shop tools, i.e.: cutters, drill press, band saw, welding tools, etc.Have access to a basic tool kit or be able to build one during the first few weeks of employmentWho We AreWashington Mills is built on values that matter.
