2027 Future Talent Program - Analytical Chemistry Research - Intern

Merck's High-Throughput Purification laboratory seeks a summer intern to develop analytical and purification methodologies for early-stage drug compounds. The 10-12 week internship involves hands-on research in small molecule and biologic analysis, data science applications, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Purify and analyze small molecules, peptides, and bioconjugates using HPLC methods
- Contribute to machine learning tool development and historical data analysis to improve workflows
- Record experimental details accurately and interpret data for potential publications
- Participate in departmental meetings and present research findings orally and in writing
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline
- Completed at least two years toward a bachelor's degree by June 2027
- Available for full-time work 10-12 consecutive weeks starting May or June 2027
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter with ability to work independently and collaborate in fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities
