Crusher Plant Operator

Montana Materials & Construction, a CRH Company, is seeking a skilled Crusher Plant Operator in Butte, Montana, United States. This position involves controlling production and load out of materials produced in plants. The plant operator is responsible for the efficient working condition of plant equipment and is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reads work schedules and determines sequence of operations.
• Operates plant according to production schedule using appropriate materials.
• Monitors material operation to ensure quality of mix.
• Performs basic maintenance and service on plant as required.
• Cleans control house and yard facility daily.
• Enters production information into computer systems.
• Other duties as assigned per supervisor.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write correspondences and memos.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to work well with others in a group or one on one setting.
• Knowledge of Inventory and Order processing systems; uses job specific computer system for ticketing and two way radio for communications.
• Must pass pre-employment physical exam and pre-employment-controlled substance testing.
• Must be a current member or join Laborers Union Local 1686 within 30 days of hire.
• Must have current US Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.
• Valid Drivers License.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands to signal and handle equipment.
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move anywhere up to 50-75 lbs.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

Work Environment:

• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; and extreme cold and/or heat.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
