Position Title Psychology Faculty – Full Time (Psychology, School of Public Service, Social Sciences) Pay Rate $70,000–$75,000 annually. Position Type Faculty – Full Time Position Summary The Psychology faculty position supports the Social Sciences programs and the strategic operations of the School of Public Service, Social Sciences and Education Faculty. Faculty work as members of an instructional team delivering high quality instruction to students. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Teach core introductory general education courses and intermediate (200) level courses in Psychology Facilitate student mastery of core learning outcomes using scholarly tools Contribute to curriculum development and planning for high‑quality courses Engage students in critical thinking, meta‑cognitive processes and communication skills Model open‑minded inquiry, diverse perspectives and creative problem‑solving Participate in department meetings, administrative meetings, student events, and community outreach Maintain current knowledge of evidence‑based educational practices for courses taught Support Frederick Community College Strategic Plan Demonstrate positive attitudes and effective human‑relations skills Support additional duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Master’s Degree in Psychology Two (2) years of college teaching experience Desired Qualifications Ph.D. in Psychology with graduate coursework in social psychology, abnormal psychology, developmental psychology, cultural diversity, or related discipline Evidence of ability to teach social psychology, abnormal psychology, or developmental psychology Evidence of engagement in professional academic associations Evidence of commitment to ongoing professional development Experience teaching and learning in a community college setting Experience with in‑person and virtual instruction Excellent oral and written communication skills Work Schedule Schedule determined by course necessity. Courses offered days, evenings, and weekends.
