This role provides comprehensive anesthetic care across surgical and diagnostic settings and plays a critical role in ensuring patient safety, quality outcomes, and multidisciplinary collaboration throughout the hospital.What You’ll Do (Your Everyday)As an Anesthesiologist with LCMC Health, you will:Provide anesthesia and sedation services for patients undergoing surgical procedures and diagnostic studiesPerform comprehensive pre-anesthetic evaluations and manage intraoperative anesthesia and post-anesthetic careConsult and collaborate with surgeons, proceduralists, and appropriate medical subspecialistsDeliver advanced life support, respiratory care, and physiologic support throughout the hospital as requiredProvide perioperative and consultative pain management servicesDirect, plan, and supervise anesthesia and sedation services for patients under your careEnsure anesthesia care delivery meets recognized standards, including patient consent, infection control, safety practices, and life-support protocolsComplete required pre- and post-procedural anesthesia/sedation evaluations within established timelinesEnsure accurate clinical documentation and regulatory reporting complianceOversee anesthesia equipment needs, including inspection, testing, and maintenanceParticipate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities, addressing identified issues to improve patient outcomesProvide technical oversight and support to sedation teams and ensure high-quality, appropriate anesthesia careThe Must-HavesEducationDoctoral Degree in Medicine (MD) or Osteopathy (DO)Licensure & Certifications (Required)Unrestricted Medical Physician License – Louisiana State Board of Medical ExaminersControlled Dangerous Substances (CDS) License – LouisianaBasic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart AssociationAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart AssociationPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – American Heart AssociationSkills & Professional RequirementsDocumented continued competence in anesthesiology to maintain clinical privilegesCompliance with Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirementsDemonstrated competence in advanced life support and airway managementCommitment to quality patient care, safety, and interdisciplinary teamworkWhy Join LCMC Health?Physician-led culture with a strong emphasis on quality and patient-centered careOpportunities to practice across diverse clinical settingsCollaborative anesthesia teams and modern facilitiesCompetitive compensation and comprehensive benefits packageRobust support for credentialing, onboarding, and professional developmentWORK SHIFT: Days (United States of America)LCMC Health is a community.Our people make health happen.
