Position (USA) Technician, Facility Services, Food Equipment Location: Yaphank, NY Overview The technician role focuses on diagnosing and repairing commercial food equipment, performing preventative maintenance, training store associates on equipment care and cleaning, and managing work orders to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency in Walmart stores. What you’ll do Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple crafts (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment) with hand tools and power tools. Utilize the work order system to receive and document repair activities for Stores and Store associates. Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls. Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues; perform repairs as needed. Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely. Minimum Qualifications 18 years or older High School Diploma or equivalent Can lift up to 50 lbs. at a time Can move up and down ladders frequently; comfortable working at heights Able to sit or stand for long periods Able to work in various temperatures Hold a valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR Vocational or Technical certification and 2 years’ experience or 4 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area; license in a related trade where required Ability to read and speak English as required Preferred Qualifications Commercial driving record with no DUI/DWI in the last five years; no more than two moving violations in the last three years Experience in commercial HVAC/R, building controls, or related field Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams Experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software Compensation and Benefits Hourly wage: $31.00 - $61.00 per hour Full-time status with varying shifts Eligibility for bonuses; sign-on bonus may apply at select locations Walmart discount; 401(k) with company match; Associate stock purchase plan Paid Time Off and comprehensive benefits (health, vision, dental, life) Live Better U education benefit (tuition fully paid by Walmart) and Walmart Academy training Primary Location: 901 Boulevard East, Yaphank, NY 11980-0000, United States EEO and Notice Walmart is an equal opportunity employer.
