Windle Design & Construction is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead the company through its next phase of growth. Working alongside the owner, you will be responsible for translating vision into execution by leading the business through its people, systems, culture, and operational excellence. This role is about more than overseeing construction projects; it's about building an organization capable of sustained growth while maintaining the craftsmanship, service, and reputation that define Windle Design & Construction. Compensation and Benefits: Salary Range: $140,000 - $150,000 On Target Earnings: $200,000 Paid Time Off 401(k) with up to 3% company match Healthcare coverage: 40% employer contribution Profit-sharing opportunity based on the company's year-end performance Responsibilities: • Executive Leadership Lead the day-to-day operations of the company while executing the owner's vision and strategic priorities Develop, coach, and support department leaders to build a high-performing leadership team Foster a culture rooted in accountability, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement • Strategic Execution Create organizational alignment by ensuring every department is working toward shared company goals Translate strategic initiatives into measurable action plans and company-wide execution Drive operational improvements that strengthen efficiency, communication, and scalability Lead organizational planning to support sustainable growth and long-term success • Business Performance Identify opportunities to improve company performance while preserving the quality and client experience that define our brand Monitor company performance through key financial and operational metrics Improve operational efficiency, profitability, and overall organizational effectiveness Partner with ownership on budgeting, forecasting, and business planning • Organizational Development Ensure departments have the resources, systems, and leadership necessary to achieve company objectives Build and strengthen the leadership team through coaching, accountability, and professional development Establish performance expectations and measurable outcomes across the organization Champion continuous improvement in leadership, communication, and company culture Help create an environment where exceptional people want to build long-term careers Qualifications: 10+ years of executive or senior leadership experience with responsibility for company operations and organizational performance Proven success leading and developing leadership teams within construction, design-build, home services, or another project-driven organization Strong business acumen with experience driving profitability, operational performance, and sustainable growth Demonstrated ability to execute strategic initiatives and lead organizational change Experience creating accountability systems, performance metrics, and scalable operational processes Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills Ability to inspire, influence, and develop high-performing teams Strong financial understanding, including budgeting, forecasting, and KPI management • Success in This Role Will Be Measured By Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Operations, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent executive leadership experience Revenue growth Company gross margin Net profit Employee retention Client satisfaction Leadership team performance Successful execution of strategic initiatives A healthy, accountable, and high-performing organizational culture Compensation: $140,000 - $150,000 yearly
