Job Duties And Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Lead and support employees in the shop and help keep the team organized and working together.
• Assign daily work and monitor progress to make sure jobs are completed correctly and on time.
• Provide assistance and guidance to employees with questions, repairs, or other work-related issues.
• Train new employees and help team members learn new tasks and procedures.
• Communicate work needs, production concerns, and employee issues to management.
• Ensure employees follow company policies, procedures, and work expectations.
• Perform required inspections, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Follow manufacturer instructions, FAA requirements, and company procedures.
• Ensure work is completed correctly and meets quality and FAA requirements.
• Complete and review work orders, maintenance records, and other required paperwork.
• Work with Quality and Inspection to address repair or quality issues.
• Ensure employees follow safety rules, use required PPE.
• Report safety, quality, equipment, or other concerns to management.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Must be willing to participate in and comply with the FAA/DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program and all applicable requirements.

Marginal Job Functions:

• Participate in special projects and process improvement activities.
• Assist with additional training or cross-training of employees.
• Help with filing, scanning, data entry, or other basic administrative tasks.
• Assist management with other shop or department needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Safety Requirements:

• Follow all company safety rules, FAA requirements, and safety procedures.
• Lead by example and promote safe work practices within the team.
• Ensure employees use required PPE and follow safety procedures.
• Report hazards, unsafe work practices, accidents, and injuries immediately.
• Make sure tools, equipment, and work areas are used and maintained safely.
• Support company safety programs, training, and initiatives.

Working Conditions:

Physical Demands: Requires standing for extended periods of time. Requires frequent walking, bending, and reaching to shoulder level. Requires occasional squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling weight up to 75 pounds. Requires repetitive hand movement. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Equipment Operated: Ability to operate office machines and equipment and troubleshoot problems with area specialized equipment. Ability to operate hand tools, lathes, machine shop tools, balance machines.

Work Location: PAG Office On-Site

Protective Equipment Required: PPE as required for area tasks

Potential Hazards: Exposure to materials identified on Safety Data Sheets.

Job Specifications:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to organize and plan work adhering to deadlines; attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality of personal and/or proprietary intellectual information; excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy; ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language as well as comprehend and apply information contained in technical, operational and supplemental manuals or procedures; If applicable, be trained in or be thoroughly familiar with the inspection, methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment and tools used to perform the maintenance, preventative maintenance, alterations, or required tasks of articles; multi-tasking is a necessity; thorough knowledge of modern office practices and procedures; ability to type with accuracy and speed; ability to maintain a good working relationship with co-workers and to project a positive, concerned image to the public; ability to work without supervision; ability to adjust to rapidly changing circumstances and priorities. Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent required, with aviation, mechanical, or technical training preferred. Relevant FAA Part 145 training or hands-on experience may be considered in place of formal technical education.

Experience: 3+ years' experience of previous Team Lead, Lead Technician, or supervisory experience required. Practical experience in the procedures, practices, inspection methods, materials, tools, machine tools and equipment generally used in the maintenance duties of the specific job.

Certificates/Licenses: Must be certificated as a mechanic or repairman per part 65.

Other: Other duties may be assigned to support other departments, personnel or projects.
