• Responsible for supporting Information Technology & Digital (IT&D) input to regulatory submissions and ensuring alignment of IT Business Plans to regulatory frameworks to mitigate against under recovery of investment.
• Supports the preparation of IT&D testimony and financial exhibits, responses to regulatory interrogatories, supports preparation of rebuttal testimony and witness preparation for evidentiary hearings in litigated rate case proceedings.
• The US Regulatory Strategy calls for the filing of at least three operating company rate cases per year for the foreseeable future to ensure that US IT investments are remunerated, cost recovery maximized, and regulatory lag minimized.

 

  Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Regulatory experience
• Preference: Accounting or Finance degree with regulatory experience
• Relevant industry certification desirable
• 2 - 5 Years of Experience in related field
• Experience/Advance Excel and Adobe skills

 

Job Dimensions:

• Regional US responsibility, across three jurisdictions to support regulatory proceedings.
• Directly supports the conduct of three concurrent OPCo rate case filings annually.
• Supports the preparation of IT&D Testimony, Capital and OPEX exhibits for each rate case filing outlining the major business initiatives and IT&D priorities and costs being filed for recovery.
• Participates in the preparation, review, editing and submission into the DREAM application and personally prepares hundreds of discovery phase interrogatory responses to questions received from Jurisdictional regulators and rate case intervenors related to each rate filing under ten calendar day submission deadline requirements (requires working nights and weekends to meet deadline requirements during peak times)
• Supports the preparation of Rebuttal testimony and Witness Preparation Binders for Evidentiary Hearings in litigated regulatory proceedings and rate cases.
• Supports the preparation of legal briefs and closing arguments for each rate case.
• Influence over regulatory return on global annual investment in the order of $250m.
• Supports regulatory and management audit reviews and compliance.

Main Interfaces:

• Works with Corporate and Line of Business Regulatory and Legal teams for provision of IT&D requirements within regulatory submissions and to ensure mitigation against under recovery of investment within regulatory frameworks.
• With IT&D Investment Planning and Performance (PMO) team to ensure regulatory alignment of IT Investment plan and coordinate benchmarking and other data requirements required in support of regulatory defence
• With Corporate and IT&D Finance to coordinate accounting and reporting accurately reflects regulatory commitments and impacts
• With IT&D Enterprise Architecture team to ensure alignment of regulatory submissions with architecture roadmaps
• With IT&D Business Partners (Relationship Management) and IT Strategy team to ensure regulatory commitment for and alignment to the overall IT strategy

• Supports input to IT Regulatory submissions to ensure alignment of IT activities to regulatory frameworks to mitigate against under recovery of investment.

• Develops self during rate case filings to become a subject matter expert, supporting IT Regulatory and IT Portfolios in providing accurate responses to discovery requests.
