The Opportunity

Prevail Recruiting is partnering with an established, growing company specializing in excess inventory, closeouts, and off-price wholesale distribution to identify an entrepreneurial VP of Sales.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced sales executive with deep relationships across consumer brands and the off-price retail industry to take on a significant leadership role within a growing business.

Our client is looking for more than a traditional sales manager. They need a proven relationship builder and dealmaker who can personally generate revenue, open doors with major consumer brands, develop a high-performing sales team, and work directly alongside the CEO to drive the company's next phase of growth.

For the right individual, this position offers substantial earnings potential and the opportunity to grow into a broader executive leadership role, potentially including President or COO.

Key Responsibilities

• Leverage established relationships with major consumer brands to identify excess inventory and closeout opportunities.
• Originate, negotiate, and close high-value B2B inventory transactions.
• Develop new brand partnerships and expand existing relationships across apparel, footwear, accessories, home goods, beauty, and other consumer-product categories.
• Lead, coach, and develop an existing sales team while remaining directly involved in revenue generation.
• Apply knowledge of off-price retail channels, including major retailers such as TJX, Ross, Burlington, and similar buyers.
• Partner directly with the CEO on sales strategy, business development, organizational growth, and expansion opportunities.
• Establish scalable sales processes, performance expectations, and accountability.
• Leverage CRM, automation, and AI tools to improve sales productivity and execution.
• Represent the company at industry trade shows, brand meetings, and strategic partner events.

What We're Looking For

Industry experience is essential. We're particularly interested in candidates who have built their careers in off-price retail, branded consumer goods, closeouts, excess inventory, wholesale, or liquidation.

The ideal candidate brings:

• Approximately 8+ years of relevant B2B sales or commercial leadership experience.
• Established relationships with major consumer brands, particularly individuals responsible for excess inventory, wholesale distribution, or off-price channels.
• Strong understanding of how off-price retailers such as TJX, Ross, and Burlington source and purchase merchandise.
• A proven track record of personally generating revenue, opening accounts, negotiating agreements, and closing significant transactions.
• Experience managing, mentoring, and developing sales professionals.
• Strong commercial instincts, executive presence, and the ability to build relationships with senior decision-makers.
• An entrepreneurial, hands-on mentality and comfort operating within a lean, fast-moving organization.
• Familiarity with modern sales technology and a willingness to adopt AI-driven tools.

Experience developing or managing off-price sales channels for a major consumer brand, or working within an inventory brokerage or closeout business, would be particularly valuable.

Compensation & Growth Opportunity

• Base salary: $130,000–$200,000, depending on experience.
• Additional performance-based profit sharing.
• Potential total annual compensation of approximately $350,000 for strong performance, with the opportunity to exceed $400,000 for exceptional results.
• Direct partnership with the CEO and significant influence over commercial growth.
• Potential long-term advancement into broader executive leadership.

Performance-based earnings are illustrative, not guaranteed. Compensation details will be discussed during the interview process.

Location

This is a full-time, on-site position in Calabasas, California.

Candidates currently residing in the San Fernando Valley, western Los Angeles County, Ventura County, or surrounding communities are encouraged to apply if the daily commute is sustainable.

Relocation candidates will also be considered if they are genuinely interested in moving within reasonable commuting distance of Calabasas.
