Job Description:The Purpose of Your RoleFidelity Workplace Investing is seeking a Data Scientist to support initiatives around personalization and customization. This position will work with technical professionals in engineering and with managers of market research and product development teams. The assignments may include exploratory analysis, feature engineering, experimentation forecasting, numerical optimization, and real time scoring.As Data Scientists, we support projects across many areas and ensure the highest degree of quality. You must be a great teammate who thrives in a small, highly effective work environment and communicates with confidence to all levels of Workplace Investing. The ideal Data Scientist handles projects from start to finish. i.e., they can work with web site professionals on experimental design, gather required data in any shape and size, process it into useful features, train machine learning models, and assist technical teams to move models into production and measure business results.The Skills You BringStatistical and data science programming with proficiency in Python or R. Experience writing testable, modular code a plus.Expert in training regression and classification models using typical ML algorithms, creating model documentation, and explaining model output (such as features and performance) to non-data science audiences.Able to conduct technical reviews of data science projects and mentor junior data scientists.Data extraction and feature engineering for processing and transforming data into relevant features.Committed to continuous learning and able to pick up new knowledge quickly.Working knowledge of AI Ethics considerations and AI bias detection techniques a plus.Experience in real-time scoring, reinforcement learning, and multi-armed bandit models a plus.EducationPhD or Master’s Degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Statistics, Data Science or Applied Mathematics), with applied research experience.PhD in an applied research field with quantitative research experience.How Your Work Impacts the OrganizationData Scientists in Fidelity Workplace Investments use sophisticated machine learning and optimization to deliver personalized experiences to our customers.
