Construction Project Manager Location: US-NY-Niskayuna ID: 2026-8569 Category: Engineering Position Type: Full-Time Remote: No Clearance Level: DOE 'L' Markon is building a talent pool of Project Managers / Assistant Project Managers to lead and support teams deliverin g complex capital and infrastructure projects across a large, operational campus environment. This role may function as a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager depending on experience, project needs, and location. The position supports modernization efforts for facilities including office buildings, laboratories, utilities, and mission-critical infrastructure, all within a highly regulated, government-operated environment. This role offers the opportunity to manage large-scale projects from planning through execution in a stable setting with limited travel. Responsibilities Lead multidisciplinary teams through the full lifecycle of capital, facility, laboratory, office, and infrastructure projects Define project scope, develop execution strategies, and establish cost, schedule, procurement, and resource plans Adapt project strategies to evolving budgets and government funding cycles Guide projects through internal governance and government approval processes, including preparation of decision packages and submittals Coordinate across engineering, construction, procurement, finance, operations, sponsors, and oversight stakeholders Oversee general contractor and subcontractor execution in a highly regulated environment Identify and mitigate risks related to scope changes, budget constraints, and existing infrastructure challenges Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement of project execution practices Qualifications Must have active DOE L clearance or a DoD secret clearance to be considered. Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across the full project lifecycle Experience defining project scope, execution strategies, and developing cost, schedule, procurement, and resource plans Experience managing projects within evolving budgets and government funding cycles Experience navigating formal governance and approval processes, including preparation of decision documentation Ability to coordinate across cross-functional teams and stakeholders Experience overseeing contractors and subcontractors in regulated environments Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks Potential for telework up to 20%. Desired Ability to lead teams through complex constraints within structured regulatory frameworks Strong written and verbal communication skills Sound judgment in managing changing budgets, priorities, and approval processes Ability to solve practical infrastructure and facility challenges on active sites Leadership presence with ability to align matrixed teams Strong ownership mindset with demonstrated follow-through Experience delivering capital projects within complex campuses, industrial sites, or government facilities Experience with office buildings, laboratory facilities, utilities, and infrastructure projects Familiarity with formal approval and funding processes Experience in contractor and subcontractor management Experience with cost estimating, scheduling, procurement planning, and change control Pay Scale 0-9 years of experience - $120,000-$127,000 10+ years of experience - $128,000-$145,000 Salary Range USD $120,000.00 - USD $145,000.00 /Yr.
