Job Description
We are looking for a passionate Geospatial Data Analyst who is hands on with Postgresql and PostGIS along with Google Maps API. Certification would be a bonus. Primary role will be ability to liaison with non-IT counterparts, interpret business requirements as analytical steps, ability to gather and interpret relevant data and information, analyze it under the constraints of the problem at hand and provide reports/presentations that drive answers to business questions. The successful candidate will turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions.
Job Responsibilities
- Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
- Filter and clean data and proactively identify problems with data and code generating them
- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
Skillset Requirements
- RDBMS Database: PostGRES, Oracle 11g GIS
- Database: PostGIS, Oracle Spatial
- GIS Tools: QGIS, JavaScript API, ArcMap, PostESRI, FME Workbench
- Languages: PL/SQL (4 years), Python (2 years)
- Operating System: Windows, Linux
- Other tools: MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
Qualifications
BS/MS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics Experience 5+ years in PostGRES, PostGIS, QGIS, Node.js/ AngularJS, Google Maps API, Oracle, ETL methods, Docker
