Senior Accountant - Cultural Institution

Overview A prestigious cultural institution is seeking a Senior Accountant with a strong blend of general accounting and post-award grant accounting experience. Maintain and reconcile key balance sheet accounts including cash, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. Support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Record and monitor grant-related expenditures in accordance with the terms and conditions of each award. Perform variance analysis across multiple programs and provide clear explanations for material differences. Assist in preparing financial reports for various funding sources, including: Private foundations, Government grants, Fee-based revenue, Fundraising events and Corporate sponsorships. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within a nonprofit or cultural institution. Strong understanding of GAAP and grant compliance. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior-level personnel across the organization. Proficiency in accounting software and Excel. Standard hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
