Job Title: Picker and Packer Job Description

This role focuses on accurately picking and packing products in a friendly, team-oriented warehouse environment. You work at a packing station to pack products into boxes according to packing lists and box sizes, then weigh, tape, label, and palletize them for shipment. Throughout the day, you rotate between packing, taping and labeling, and palletizing tasks, providing variety in your work. You may also operate a steady, easy-to-learn packing machine, making any prior machine operating experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Pack products into boxes according to the packing list and appropriate box size.

• Work at a designated packing station to organize and prepare orders for shipment.

• Weigh packed boxes to ensure accuracy and compliance with shipping requirements.

• Tape and securely seal boxes to maintain product safety during transport.

• Label boxes correctly with the required shipping and product information.

• Place completed boxes onto pallets in an organized manner for shipment.

• Rotate between packing, taping and labeling, and palletizing tasks throughout the day.

• Use RF scanners or similar devices to pick and track products when required.

• Pick products from storage locations and remove items from a zip line machine or similar equipment as needed.

• Follow written work instructions in English to complete tasks accurately and safely.

• Maintain a clean and orderly work area to support efficient warehouse operations.

• Adhere to all safety procedures and pass a safety test after viewing a safety training video.

• Communicate effectively with team members and work well with others to meet daily goals.

• Handle general labor tasks related to warehouse packing and manufacturing support.

Essential Skills

• Ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment.

• High school education or equivalent.

• Ideally at least 6 months of experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, picking, or packing role.

• Basic picking and packing skills, including handling products and preparing them for shipment.

• Ability to use RF scanners or similar devices for picking and tracking products.

• Good communication skills to coordinate tasks and follow directions.

• Safety-conscious mindset with the ability to follow safety procedures consistently.

• Ability to read and follow written work instructions in English.

• Capability to pass a safety test after watching a safety training video.

• Physical ability to perform general labor tasks such as lifting, moving, and palletizing boxes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Any prior machine operating experience, particularly with packing or production equipment, is beneficial.

• Experience with warehouse packing processes, including packaging and palletizing.

• Comfort working with zip line machines or similar automated product handling equipment.

• Familiarity with general warehouse operations and manufacturing environments.

Work Environment

The work takes place in a warehouse and manufacturing setting that is described as very nice and team oriented. You primarily work at packing stations and around palletizing areas, using packing equipment, RF scanners, and a steady-type packing machine when required. The position is on first shift, running Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., providing a consistent daytime schedule. Steel-toed boots are required, and eye protection and hearing protection may be needed depending on the specific building and work area; eye and hearing protection are provided. The environment emphasizes safety, clear instructions, and cooperation among team members.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Agawam, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
