Location: Norwell, MA 02061

Employment Type: Part-time, 25 hours per week (guaranteed)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, core hours mid-morning to afternoon; flexible on exact start time, ending by approximately 6:00 PM. Additional hours may be available for candidates interested in providing approximately two hours of after-school childcare per day.

Compensation: $30–$35 per hour, based on experience

About Our Family

We are a warm family of four with two working parents and two boys. Between demanding careers that include regular travel, school, after-school activities, and everything that comes with raising two active kids, we are in a particularly full season of family life.

We have support in place, including a virtual family advisor who knows our family well and manages many of the household tasks that can be handled online or by phone. This role will work closely alongside the virtual advisor, bringing the in-person execution and day-to-day ownership that keeps the household running smoothly. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the flow of our home while the kids are at school and we are working, providing consistent support with meals, laundry, daily resets, inventory and errands, household organization, and ensuring important dates and information from school paperwork are captured in our family calendar.

We also have areas of our home that need better organization, systems that need to be created, and projects that need to be carried across the finish line. We are looking forward to having someone who can help us make steady progress on those priorities over time, while keeping the recurring needs of the household running smoothly.

A great week for us would mean coming home to a house that feels “set”: dinner is underway, laundry is handled, everyday clutter has been reset, and the loose ends have been taken care of. We want our time at home to be less about managing the household and more about being fully present together as a family.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

• Proactive, organized, and comfortable taking ownership. You naturally notice what needs attention and take initiative without waiting for a list of instructions. You are self-directed, have strong executive function, and are comfortable managing your day without frequent oversight.
• A systems-builder with a project management mindset. You enjoy home organization and can look at a room, routine, or unfinished project, assess what is and isn't working, create practical systems, and follow them through to completion. You understand the difference between a beautiful system and a sustainable one, creating routines and workflows that reduce friction and are easy for the family to maintain over time.
• A confident home cook. You are comfortable following recipes, working from an established meal plan, and preparing healthy family meals efficiently.
• Independent and confident prioritizing your time. You are comfortable balancing recurring household responsibilities with longer-term projects and can thoughtfully determine what needs attention each day, what can wait, and how to keep larger initiatives moving forward. When routines are disrupted by travel, sick days, or changing schedules, you can adjust priorities and keep things moving. 
• Collaborative and tech-savvy. You are comfortable working alongside a virtual family advisor and using shared calendars, documents, task-management tools, and other digital systems. You understand how to collaborate without duplicating effort and how to hand off tasks or information clearly.
• An organized, thoughtful communicator. You are comfortable with an email-first, asynchronous communication style and understand the value of keeping information centralized in shared systems rather than spread across texts, notes, and conversations.
• Warm and comfortable around children. You are comfortable working in a home with school-aged children and occasionally providing light supervision or back-up support. Someone who genuinely enjoys interacting with kids is a plus.
• Dependable and adaptable. You follow through on what you say you will do, use good judgment, and bring a steady presence even when schedules or household priorities change.

Key Responsibilities

Household Management & Organization

• Create and maintain practical household organization systems that are easy for the family to follow
• Complete daily household resets and prep home for cleaners
• Complete a weekly fridge reset
• Handle light tidying (dishes, surfaces, clutter, vacuum high-traffic areas)
• Manage seasonal swaps for clothing, décor, bedding, and gear
• Declutter and sell or donate unwanted items on Facebook Marketplace, Buy Nothing, or similar platforms, including coordinating pickups and handoffs
• Support preparation for events, holidays, guests, and hosting
• Assist with packing and unpacking for family travel
• Change batteries, light bulbs, smoke detector batteries, and similar household items as needed

Meal Planning & Prep

• Work from and help expand the family's existing 3-week rotating meal plan
• Coordinate with the family's virtual advisor on the weekly meal plan and grocery list
• Batch cook approximately 3–4 dinners per week, with enough food for leftovers when possible
• Prepare snacks as needed
• Handle occasional grocery shopping or grocery pickups as needed
• Receive, unpack, wash, organize, and put away grocery deliveries
• Complete kitchen clean-up and maintenance

Laundry & Linen Care

• Wash, dry, fold, organize, and put away laundry
• Handle ironing, steaming, and appropriate care of special garments as needed
• Manage linen rotation, including washing and folding sheets and refreshing towels
• Keep laundry areas tidy, organized, and well stocked

Inventory & Errands

• Maintain running household supply lists
• Manage household orders and subscriptions (Amazon/Costco/Walmart+)
• Receive and organize household deliveries (separate/portion/decant/restock and break down packaging)
• Handle returns
• Pick up gifts and other items ordered as needed

Family Support & Child Assistance

• Tackle backlog of school papers, forms, and kids' artwork. Build a simple, sustainable system that includes sorting, organizing, and determining what needs to be saved, shared, added to the calendar, flagged for follow up, or otherwise addressed.
• Unpack backpacks, empty school folders and maintain the system as new items come home.
• Prepare backpacks, snacks, water bottles, and clothing for the next day
• Provide occasional light supervision or back-up childcare as needed

Organization & Special Projects

• Establish a room-by-room organization plan and work through priorities over time alongside recurring household responsibilities
• Help complete partially finished household and organization projects, carrying projects through to completion
• Tackle organizational projects involving toys, children's gear, closets, and other household spaces
• Clean and maintain humidifiers and air purifiers throughout the home

Vehicle Management

• Schedule routine vehicle maintenance and service appointments
• Assist with fueling, cleaning, and organizing family vehicles
• Track vehicle registration and insurance deadlines and coordinate renewals as needed

Vendor & Property Oversight

• Oversee cleaners, landscapers, and other household service providers
• Create and manage punch lists for household repairs and installation projects, coordinating with the appropriate professionals
• Identify and communicate rotating deep-cleaning tasks for cleaners

Administrative & Personal Assistant Support

• Work with the family's virtual advisor to ensure information moves smoothly between the digital and in-person sides of household management
• Add relevant household, school, appointment, and activity information to shared family calendar
• Support travel planning and logistics
• Track and maintain receipts/budget for household expenses
