Medical Director / Senior Medical Director, Psychiatry

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a Medical Director or Senior Medical Director in Psychiatry to provide medical oversight of clinical trials, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage safety monitoring across contracted services. The role involves clinical consultation, adverse event review, and support for investigator and sponsor meetings in a remote position based in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical oversight of clinical trials to ensure SOPs, regulatory requirements, and Good Clinical Practice compliance
• Review and analyze serious adverse events, adverse events of special interest, and clinical outcomes reported by study sites
• Monitor safety variables including adverse events, laboratory abnormalities, and medication protocol compliance
• Attend and present at investigator and sponsor meetings; provide medical consultation to clients and project teams
• Support business development activities and mentor other medical staff on protocol and therapeutic training

Requirements

• MD or equivalent medical degree required
• Formal training in Psychiatry (residency and/or fellowship) with clinical patient treatment experience
• Therapeutic expertise and clinical knowledge in Psychiatry
• Working knowledge of safety databases, FDA/ICH/EMA guidelines, and Good Clinical Practice
• For Senior level: 1-2 years industry experience in CRO or pharmaceutical clinical trials
• Strong written and oral communication skills with proficiency in basic computer applications
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail and manage complex sensitive information
