Optician Position

A well-established eye care practice in Miami, FL is seeking an experienced Optician to join its team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about patient care, eyewear sales, and delivering an exceptional customer experience in a fast-paced optical environment.

The Optician will assist patients with eyewear selection, frame fitting, lens recommendations, prescription interpretation, and overall optical support while working closely with the clinical team.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with selecting eyewear, frames, and lens options based on prescriptions and lifestyle needs
• Fit, adjust, repair, and dispense eyeglasses to ensure optimal comfort and vision
• Interpret optical prescriptions accurately and provide product recommendations
• Support optometrists by pre-testing patients and assisting with patient intake procedures
• Verify insurance benefits, obtain authorizations, and explain coverage options to patients
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
• Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure high levels of patient satisfaction
• Assist with inventory management and merchandising of eyewear products
• Collaborate with team members to maintain efficient clinic operations

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of optical sales experience
• Experience selling high-end ophthalmic frames and lenses
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
• Ability to support patient pre-testing and check-in processes
• Experience verifying medical and vision insurance benefits and obtaining authorizations
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and computer skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling prescriptions and eyewear orders
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
• Experience with optical software and related tools preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Optician certification preferred
