Labor and Employment AttorneyPosition OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Labor and Employment Attorney to provide strategic legal counsel and vigorous representation in a broad range of workplace matters. The successful candidate will handle complex employment litigation, advise employers and employees on compliance and risk management, and represent clients in administrative proceedings and trial. This role combines courtroom advocacy, transactional counseling, client-facing advisory work, and business development to protect client interests and resolve disputes efficiently.Key ResponsibilitiesRepresent clients in state and federal courts, administrative agencies (e.g., EEOC, DOL, NLRB), and arbitration proceedings through all phases of litigation, including pre-litigation counseling, discovery, motion practice, and trial.Manage a diverse caseload of labor and employment matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage-hour disputes, collective bargaining issues, union-related matters, wrongful termination, restrictive covenant enforcement, and employment contract disputes.Conduct internal investigations, draft investigation reports, and advise clients on corrective actions and mitigation strategies to reduce exposure and regulatory risk.Draft and file pleadings, motions, briefs, settlement agreements, and other litigation documents; prepare and take depositions; develop case strategy and trial plans.Counsel clients on compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations (e.g., Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FLSA, FMLA, NLRA), create and review employee policies and handbooks, and provide proactive training for management and HR teams.Negotiate settlements, mediations, and alternative dispute resolution outcomes that align with client objectives and business interests.Supervise, mentor, and delegate work to junior attorneys and support staff, manage case budgets, billing, and client communications to ensure high-quality, cost-effective legal service.Collaborate with business leaders and HR to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice and to support employment-related transactions, restructurings, and workforce initiatives.Participate in business development activities, including client pitches, relationship management, and contributing to practice growth through thought leadership and community engagement.QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar admission in OHMinimum 3+ years of experience practicing labor and employment law with substantial litigation and courtroom experience; trial experience strongly preferred.Demonstrated skill in employment litigation, including motion practice, depositions, trial preparation, and courtroom advocacy.Strong knowledge of federal and state employment statutes and regulations (e.g., Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FLSA, FMLA, NLRA) and experience advising on compliance and risk mitigation.Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills; ability to craft persuasive briefs and present complex legal issues to judges, arbitrators, and clients.Proven ability to counsel business clients and HR teams with practical, commercially minded advice; strong business acumen and client-service orientation.Experience conducting internal investigations and preparing investigative reports and remedial action plans.Track record of effective negotiation and alternative dispute resolution, including mediations and settlement negotiations.Ability to manage a heavy caseload, supervise junior staff, and meet billing and case management expectations.Professional demeanor, high ethical standards, strong interpersonal skills, and comfort with public speaking and client-facing roles.Preferred skills: Attorney, Employment, Labor, Litigation, Court, trial, Business (experience or demonstrated aptitude).Benefits" Medical" Dental" Life and Disability" 401K" Profit Sharing" Bonuses" Paid Vacation
