Data Center Technician

This role is ideal for individuals who already have some exposure to *lowvoltage cabling, structured cabling, or data center environments* and are looking to continue building their skills alongside experienced technicians.

*What You'll Do* You'll work as part of a technician team installing and supporting data center cabling and network infrastructure, including:
*HandsOn Installation & Cabling*
* Install and decommission *copper and fiber cabling infrastructure*
* Pull, route, dress, and label lowvoltage cable (Cat5, Cat6, fiber)
* Perform *field terminations* and cable labeling
* Assist with *rack & stack* of network and server equipment
* Install ladder racking and seismic bracing (above and below raised floor)
* Layout and dress *MDF and IDF closets*
*Testing & Documentation (with Training as Needed)*
* Support copper and fiber *testing and troubleshooting*
* Operate test equipment (DSX 5000 / OTDR) or learn under supervision
* Upload and save results to *LinkWare / LinkWare Live*
* Create and apply portmap labels
* Maintain clean, accurate documentation and paperwork
*Field & Team Responsibilities*
* Follow all safety, quality, and data center best practices
* Maintain clean, organized work areas
* Communicate project updates to leads and managers
* Work collaboratively with technicians, leads, and stakeholders
* Read and interpret *floor plans, blueprints, and design documents*

*Required / Preferred Skills*
* Experience with *cabling, racking, or data center environments*
* Familiarity with *basic telecom hand tools*
* Understanding of wiring schemes and labeling practices
* Comfortable pulling lowvoltage cable and working at heights
* Ability to read floor plans and basic drawings
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
Experience with fiber splicing, OTDR testing, or FIM databases is a plus
*Physical Requirements*
* Ability to lift and carry up to *50 lbs*
* Ability to climb ladders and work on raised platforms
* Extended periods of walking, standing, bending, and reaching
* Manual dexterity to operate tools and technical equipment

*Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
