The primary purpose of this role is to independently maintain, reconcile, and audit specific financial records, budget codes, and specialized program funds in strict compliance with the North Carolina Uniform Public School Accounting System (NCUPSAS), local board of education policies, and state/federal statutory guidelines. Essential Job Functions Follow all rules, policies and procedures of Stanly County Schools, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to school finance. Accurately performs accounting work involving the maintenance and reporting of financial data. Knowledge of how to reconcile bank statements. Support of school bookkeeping practices and staff Maintain Fixed Assets Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Chief Finance Officer Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong computer skills (Excel, Work, PowerPoint, etc) Strong communication skills Ability to establish effective working relationships Ability to coordinate, plan, and meet deadlines (multitasker) Ability to work alone or with others. Assist in external and internal audits Physical ability to perform duties and responsibilities Minimum Training and Experience Associate’s degree in business or equivalent experience. Three years of experience in financial operations of a school system.
