Job Title: Kitchen Cook
Reports To: Head Chef, Restaurant Manager, Shift Leaders
Summary:
The Kitchen Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards. They
work as part of a team to ensure that food is prepared efficiently, consistently, and to the highest quality.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Food Preparation:
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, measuring spices, and portioning meat and
seafood.
Follow recipes and cooking instructions accurately to ensure consistency and quality.
Cook food using various methods, such as grilling, frying, sauting, and baking.
Plate dishes attractively and according to restaurant standards.
Kitchen Maintenance and Sanitation:
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including equipment, utensils, and surfaces.
Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, ensuring proper handling and storage of food.
Assist with cleaning and organizing the kitchen at the end of each shift.
Assist in maintaining clean and well kept vent hood systems.
Teamwork and Communication:
Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff, including the head chef and other cooks.
Work collaboratively to ensure efficient and timely food preparation.
Assist other team members as needed.
Additional Duties:
May be responsible for receiving and storing deliveries.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

Qualifications:
Experience: Previous experience as a cook or in a similar role is preferred but not required. Willingness to learn and
develop culinary skills is essential.
Skills: Basic knife skills, ability to follow recipes and instructions, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and good
communication skills.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and work in a hot
and sometimes stressful environment.
