Assistant Manager – Camp Bow Wow

Camp Bow Wow is looking for an energetic, dependable, and hands-on Assistant Manager to help lead our team while providing exceptional care for our canine campers and outstanding service to their parents.

What You'll Do

As our Assistant Manager, you'll partner with the Camp Manager to oversee daily operations, support staff, ensure a safe environment for dogs, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the day-to-day operations of dog daycare, boarding, and grooming services.
• Lead, coach, and motivate a team of Camp Counselors and Guest Service Representatives.
• Train new employees and reinforce Camp Bow Wow safety and customer service standards.
• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of every dog in our care.
• Monitor dog playgroups and ensure proper dog handling and behavior management.
• Provide exceptional customer service both in person and over the phone.
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and confidently.
• Assist with scheduling, labor management, and daily staffing needs.
• Monitor facility cleanliness and ensure all sanitation standards are met.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Support inventory management and ordering of supplies.
• Help achieve business goals through retail sales, add-on services, memberships, and package sales.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Step into leadership whenever the Camp Manager is unavailable.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory or management experience (retail, hospitality, veterinary, daycare, pet care, or service industry preferred).
• Experience working with dogs is strongly preferred.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Strong customer service background.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable coaching employees and holding team members accountable.
• Positive attitude with a solutions-focused mindset.
• Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn reservation software.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be comfortable working around dogs of all breeds, sizes, temperaments, and energy levels.
