Assistant Controller – Greater Roxborough / Northwest Philadelphia Area (4 days onsite)
$90,000 – $100,000 | Full-Time | Hybrid (1 remote day/week)
Growing, manufacturing organization hiring hands-on Assistant Controller to serve as the right hand to CFO. Unique opportunity to step into a highly visible role within a company that combines the stability of a 30+ year operating history with the energy and mindset of a growth-stage business.
Key Responsibilities – Assistant Controller
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements with variance commentary vs. budget/forecast
- Perform cost accounting and COGS analysis
- Support pricing and margin analysis across customer and product lines
- Manage A/R, cash activity, and related reporting
- Oversee payroll accounting, accruals, and journal entries
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation reporting
- Supervise Staff Accountant supporting AP, AR, and payroll processing
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial reporting packages
- Support process improvement initiatives and system enhancements
Requirements – Assistant Controller
- 5+ years progressive accounting experience (Senior Accountant ready to step up encouraged)
- Strong understanding of month-end close, GL accounting, and financial reporting
- Experience with cost accounting and manufacturing environments strongly preferred
- Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas required)
- Exposure to inventory accounting / manufacturing or product-based company
