Details Acute care hospital setting with 200 staffed beds Labor and Delivery unit with 1:2 patient ratios Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) Weekend shifts required Floating between like units required Epic EMR used and required Royal blue scrubs required for RN staff; scrubs provided for L&D Requirements Active CA RN license (compact license accepted, must be in hand at submission) Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience required Required certifications: BLS and NRP Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate Epic charting experience required Proficiency in fetal monitoring, labor management, and postpartum care procedures Experience with high-risk delivery, C-section circulation/scrub, and newborn care preferred Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required Additional Information Provide comprehensive care across labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn stages Perform skills such as fetal monitoring, medication administration (Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, etc.), and assisting with vaginal and cesarean deliveries Support lactation, newborn assessments, and discharge teaching for new parents First-time travelers are welcome to apply Locals accepted within a 50-mile radius, at a lower bill rate Former permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they live outside a 50-mile radius Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) RTO must be submitted at time of application; post-offer time off requests may not be accommodated Free parking available on-site American Traveler Job ID P-745875.
