Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for a Launcher Manufacturing Supervisor 2 to join our team in Sunnyvale, CA. The role is focused on leading a team that fabricates, assembles, and tests launcher products for naval surface ships and submarines. This position requires a U.S. Government Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship. Relocation Assistance Relocation assistance may be available for qualifying candidates. Travel Approximately 10% of the time may involve travel. Responsibilities Lead a team directly responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and testing of launcher products. Supervise a team of 10–18 welders, painters, and assembler‑testers in day‑to‑day work. Ensure all work meets Northrop Grumman’s high standards for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and engagement. Manage team time and pay to ensure accuracy. Maintain a safe work environment and address employee concerns promptly. Adhere to the collective bargaining agreement. Assign appropriate training and maintain certifications for the team. Identify and eliminate obstacles that impede efficient work performance. Resolve interpersonal issues quickly and at the lowest level. Be flexible to work weekends to support operations as needed. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; Master’s with a minimum of 6 years; PhD with a minimum of 4 years (additional years may be considered in lieu of a degree). Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or team lead experience in an operations environment. Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance. U.S. citizenship. Preferred Qualifications STEM degree. Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques. Experience with SAP. Experience managing a union‑represented workforce. Previous manufacturing experience. Previous military experience. Current, active U.S. Government Secret clearance. Salary & Bonus Primary level salary range: $121,100.00 – $181,700.00. The final base salary will take into account the scope of responsibilities and your experience. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and, for certain positions, long‑term incentives.
