Vice President of Business Development

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a growth strategy aligned with leadership’s goals, objectives, and financial targets.
• Track and update sales goals and opportunities in the CRM system, providing regular status updates to executive leadership.
• Build and nurture solid business relationships with key decision makers who influence purchasing decisions.
• Review and analyze sales and operational data to project sales, determine profitability, set targets, and identify new markets.
• Consult with potential customers to understand their needs and recommend services that meet those needs.
• Resolve customer complaints and issues that may interfere with sales operations.
• Provide quotes, credit terms, and other bid specifications to new or existing customers.
• Negotiate prices, terms, and service agreements; prepare contracts and submit orders; manage proposal response processes including RFP requirements and content creation.
• Collaborate with purchasing departments and other staff to ensure accurate and efficient order processing and product distribution.
• Build long‑term relationships with new and existing customers.
• Represent the company at trade shows and other professional activities.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of competitive products and marketplace activity.
• Travel overnight up to 50% of the time, as needed, and handle duties for East Coast Life Sciences companies.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant experience.
• Proficiency in strategic account management and planning.
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to present work in report formats.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and collaboration skills.
• Excellent communication and follow‑up skills.
• Experience using CRM software such as Salesforce.
• Proven ability to meet and present to a wide range of customers.
• Capacity for independent decision‑making and priority management.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills, including technical proofreading.
• Ability to role‑model Verista Values.
• Experience in a fast‑paced, high‑growth, results‑driven organization.
• Network of industry contacts on the East Coast to generate leads and opportunities.

Compensation

US: $150,000 – $220,000 annually, plus performance‑based incentive programs.
