Position SummaryThis role will support the application of nuclear medical physics in the research and development of imaging and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals (RPT) in Oncology. The individual will work in a multidisciplinary environment and contribute from discovery through late-phase clinical research, with a strong emphasis on enabling preclinical and translational imaging and dosimetry capabilities that support clinical development.The Advisor – Medical Physicist will provide hands-on technical expertise in SPECT image reconstruction (required), dosimetry analysis, scanner calibration, tool development, validation, QC workflows, and site qualification. This role will support the development of internal RLT analysis capabilities spanning discovery through clinical applications, enabling robust, scalable, and regulatory-aligned imaging and dosimetry workflows.ResponsibilitiesLead development and validation of in-house RLT analysis tools, including image reconstruction, activity modeling, dosimetry calculation, and calibration methods in partnership with both the Discovery and Clinical teamsProvide quantitative imaging and dosimetry to screen and rank candidate radioligands, informing candidate selection in partnership with the Discovery teamDevelop and implement imaging and dosimetry methodologies for preclinical RPT studies, including quantitative imaging and dose estimation in animal models, and translational dosimetry to estimate human dosimetryOwn validation strategy and execution for internally developed tools, ensuring reproducibility and alignment with clinical and regulatory expectationsLead scanner qualification and performance characterization for preclinical and clinical PET and SPECT imaging systems in partnership with both the Discovery and Clinical teamsDevelop QC workflows and ensure consistent application across imaging reconstruction, dosimetry, and calibration outputsPerform internal dosimetry analyses across preclinical and clinical datasets and provide QC review of analysis outputsIdentify and resolve technical bottlenecks in reconstruction, imaging, dosimetry, and QC workflowsSupport translation of preclinical imaging and dosimetry methods into early-phase clinical workflowsSupport development of SOPs, imaging manuals, dosimetry documentation, and regulatory deliverablesContribute to preparation of datasets, tables, figures, and analysis outputs supporting regulatory submissionsInterface with IT and software engineering teams to implement, deploy, and maintain validated analysis platformsSupport site qualification, troubleshooting, and routine data processing across studiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams, external vendors, CROs, and imaging partnersEnsure adherence to GCP, SOPs, and quality standardsBasic RequirementsAdvanced degree (PhD) in Medical Physics, Nuclear Physics, Biomedical Engineering or related fieldPreferred RequirementsRequired: Expertise in SPECT image reconstruction and quantitative SPECT imagingPreferred: Experience with PET reconstruction and quantitative PET imagingExperience in radiopharmaceutical/internal dosimetry (organ level and/or voxel-based methods)Experience developing or validating scientific software or quantitative imaging workflowsStrong understanding of nuclear imaging modalities (SPECT, PET, CT, MR)Ability to perform technical QC and communicate results to multidisciplinary teamsWork EnvironmentThis position is RemoteLilly is dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities to actively engage in the workforce, ensuring equal opportunities when vying for positions. The anticipated wage for this position is$151,500 - $244,200Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
