Certified Surgical Tech PRN – Cherokee Medical Center Location: Gaffney, South Carolina, United States Job ID: P-104861 Overview The Certified Surgical Technician (CST) will support surgical teams during operating room procedures under the supervision and delegatory authority of a surgeon. The position is a PRN (on‑call) role with scheduled days and a weekly late‑stay assignment. Responsibilities Work PRN days from 0700 to 1530. Assigned to a Late Stay shift one day per week; no call requirement. Prepare and maintain a sterile operating room environment. Assist surgeons and other healthcare professionals in the performance of invasive and non‑invasive procedures. Ensure all equipment functions properly and is ready for use. Follow asepsis and sterile technique standards to maximize patient safety. Qualifications Education Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program authorized by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) prior to 2022. Graduate of a CAAHEP‑accredited Surgical Technology Associate Degree program as of 2022. Experience & Certifications New graduate to experienced CST with appropriate license/registration/certifications. Certification as a Certified Surgical Technician (CST) conferred by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgery Assisting (NBSTSA).
