Description

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for a CV PreOp position requiring critical care experience at a hospital with a Level II trauma center.

Details

• Work in the CV PreOp unit, a 4-bed area supporting cardiovascular surgery patients
• 1:1 patient ratios in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Uses GE Carescape monitoring and Fuji ultrasound equipment
• Cerner documentation system used for charting
• Monday through Friday schedule, 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM
• On-call requirement of staying late 1-2 times per week
• Floating required within scope of practice and experience

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience required
• BLS certification required
• Critical care experience required
• PreOp experience a plus
• CST certification required, with state licensure as applicable (required in VA and CO)
• License required if applicable
• Strong critical thinking and independent work skills required in a high-acuity setting
• Excellent documentation and interdepartmental communication skills required
• BCMA skill set required
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Perform large-bore IV starts, chin-to-toe hair removal, and medication administration
• Conduct skin assessments and assist with arterial line, central line, and epidural placement
• Transport patients to the OR and assist with induction, intubation, positioning, and skin prep
• Work alongside a team including RNs, CNC, secretary, and manager shared with CVOR
• Hospital recognized as a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and Magnet-designated facility
• Uniform/scrubs provided by the facility
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
