Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
The ICU RN is responsible for providing specialized critical care to patients in the intensive care unit. The role involves monitoring and managing critically ill patients, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through expert nursing practices.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and monitor critically ill patients' conditions, adjusting care plans accordingly
• Administer cardiac drips and medications within protocol and manage dysrhythmias effectively
• Read, interpret, and document cardiac strips and other vital signs accurately
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care strategies
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, medication administration policies, and documentation procedures
• Float to various units including MS Tele and Cardiac Monitoring as needed, demonstrating flexibility and competency

Qualifications:

• Licensure as an RN in Arizona or valid, participating compact state, active and unrestricted
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU or critical care nursing experience required
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS; can be pending at time of submission
• Demonstrate proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management of cardiac drips
• Ability to float across units and handle high-acuity patient care responsibilities
