Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Ambulatory OR RN to provide comprehensive perioperative care in a fast-paced outpatient surgical environment. The ideal candidate will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and nursing staff to ensure safe patient outcomes from preoperative preparation through post-anesthesia recovery.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for surgery by reviewing medical histories, reconciling medications, obtaining vital signs, and establishing IV access.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and recovery status during post-anesthesia care, ensuring safe and effective recovery.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and preoperative preparations as ordered by physicians.
• Communicate effectively with surgical teams to coordinate patient care and facilitate smooth workflows.
• Review discharge instructions and assist in discharging patients via wheelchair, ensuring patient safety.
• Maintain strict adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and documentation requirements.

Qualifications:

• Current South Carolina RN license or compact license with active registration.
• BLS certification; radiation badge must be provided by the parent company.
• Minimum of 1 year of perioperative experience in ambulatory surgery or similar setting.
• Well-versed in specialties such as Orthopedics, ENT, GYN, GU, Endocrine, Surgical Oncology, Robotics, Total Joints, and Interventional Radiology.
• Ability to float within scope and work in a fast-paced surgical environment.
