The strategist builds and sustains community partnerships, collaborates with faculty to integrate experiential learning into the curriculum, and supports key programs, including the Federal Work-Study Community Service Program and the Community Service Honors Designation. This position also cross-trains across CIA's full range of services, including career coaching, internship advising, and study abroad, to provide holistic and integrated support to students.Essential Job Functions and Performance IndicatorsThe intent of this job description is to provide a representation of the types of duties and level of responsibility that will be required of positions given this title. Employees may be directed to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.Job Responsibilities and ExecutionSupports the Federal Work Study Community Service program including identifying and vetting community partner organizations, recruiting and hiring qualified student participants, and managing timecardsIntegrates Federal Work Study participants into the Community Service Honors Designation programSupports the CIA in developing processes for integrating high-impact practices into the curriculum; assesses risk/liability of off-campus learning experiencesCreates and supports student/faculty recognition procedures for the CIA including the Community Service Honors Designation in collaboration with Student Involvement and Academic ServicesProvides career coaching including resume review, interview preparation, and job search strategiesAssists students with internship searches and connecting with employer opportunitiesSupports study abroad advising including program selection, application processes, and relevant course/program equivalenciesAssists with First Destination Survey data collection and other assessment initiativesSupports career fairs, networking events, employer information sessions, and other CIA programming as neededService ExcellenceSupports the mission of the University and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellenceModels, supports, and holds others accountable to the University’s valuesIntentionally acts with empathy to create a welcoming, inclusive environment that respects diverse perspectives and backgroundsServes as contact person for students, faculty, and partners needing support with experiential learning opportunitiesCommunication, Teamwork, and CollaborationDevelops and sustains mutually beneficial partnerships with non-profit, governmental, and community-based organizations to support service learning, internships, and other experiential opportunities; represents the university in local and regional service-learning networks to identify and cultivate new community connectionsCollaborates with faculty, the Lindenwood Learning Academy, campus offices, and community organizations to design and implement service-learning experiences in courses and co-curricular programs; provides training and professional development on service-learning pedagogy and best practicesCollaborates with partners in Academic Affairs to assist faculty and staff in gathering data for the assessment of experiential learning outcomesEstablishes and maintains effective communication with external constituents including employers, community partners, and study abroad providersUses social media to promote the work of faculty, students, employers, and community partnersCollaborates with colleagues across multiple divisions, including Student Involvement, the Learning Academy, Advancement and Communications, and OperationsCollaborates with CIA colleagues to develop integrated programming connecting multiple high-impact practicesJob may require other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications – An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
