Auditor, Food Safety & Food Quality

Hiring Company: Delicatessen Services Co., LLC Overview Supervise and support the development and rollout of Tracegains and other QMSs. Maintain accurate data, provide analytical reports, and deliver advanced support to QMS users. Support the BH Audit Team with Food Safety & Product Quality audits at various venues including Food Service Operations, Retail Store Operations, Manufacturing Plants, and Food Distribution Ops. Summarize follow‑up actions, initiate CARs, and drive root‑cause investigation and resolution to ensure customers and suppliers meet Boar’s Head Brand quality standards. Complete special projects as assigned by the Sr. QA Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide advanced super user support to functional groups (R&D, Procurement, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing) on QMS related issues. Offer technical support to the Family Foods team and suppliers on creating and maintaining information and documents in Tracegains. Generate customized views, analytical reports, and maintain required documentation/data within Tracegains; provide basic programming support for operations and support departments. Assist QA with maintenance of processing documents and files associated with SQF, HACCP, and other quality or food safety programs. Organize and audit co‑manufacturers’ QA related documents to ensure compliance with Boar’s Head expectations (annual GFSI audit reports, CAPAs, nutritional documents, COAs, allergen forms, weight & Tare, and other product claims). Perform Food Safety & Product Quality audits at multiple venues, conduct ongoing risk assessments, develop corrective actions, and monitor implementation, efficacy, and maintenance of preventive measures. Collaborate with BH Local Purveyor & Sales Team to provide Food Safety training as needed (e.g., BH UFSP Program). Communicate customer feedback to BH manufacturing plants or co‑manufacturing facilities and initiate CAPAs to resolve root causes. Enter Local Purveyor concerns into the Tracegains Customer Feedback system and ensure follow‑up actions are completed. Perform any additional duties as assigned. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in food science or a related discipline; 7+ years of work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong background in auditing USDA & FDA environments, HACCP, SSOP, GMP, GFSI schemes, and experience with cheese, meat, emulsion, and hot/cold pack production is preferred. Additional Responsibilities Language Skills: Fluency in English required; fluency in Spanish desired. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills at technical and general levels and be able to interact throughout all supply chain levels. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations Valid driver’s license. HACCP training or willingness to attend training. Serve Safe Manager certification or willingness to attend training. SQF or other GFSI scheme certification desired. Auditor certification preferred (e.g., ASQ Certified HACCP Auditor, Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Supplier Quality Professional). Physical Demands Must lift overhead up to 30 pounds; stand and walk for extended periods; possess sufficient senses for organoleptic evaluations (visual, olfactory, gustatory, tactile, auditory). Work Environment Work in warm and cold environments, including meat, cheese, or condiment processing settings with exposure to blood, meat juices, and loud noises. Travel less than 50% of the time to audit venues.
