Respiratory Therapist - Emergency Department

Location UCHealth Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion - Aurora, CO Position Respiratory Care Employment Details FTE: Full Time, 0.9 (72.00 hours per pay period, bi‑weekly) Shift: Nights Pay: $31.61 - $47.41 per hour (dependent on relevant experience) Minimum Requirements Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program. Registered as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). State licensure. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) obtained within 1 year if assigned to NICU; tracked on unit. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) obtained within 1 year if assigned to ED; tracked on unit. Advanced Cardiac Life Support. BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. Responsibilities Provide top‑of‑scope practice in a direct patient care environment utilizing respiratory therapy protocols and best practices to promote optimized care. Value and effectively partner with a multidisciplinary team to achieve exceptional care outcomes. Prioritize wellness, patient perspective, and evidence‑based practice. Precept and model proficiency to new staff within a fast‑paced, innovative clinical environment. Contribute to secure safety and quality at the point of care in a technologically complex setting that manages ventilator integration, adaptive pulmonary support, and airway management across multiple levels of care. Participate in clinical ladders encouraging internal growth and promotion through implementation of various clinical and process improvement projects at the unit, division, regional, or system level.
