Dental Assistant

Dental Assistant needed for Dental Offiice located in Bardonia, NY Salary $25-$28/ HR; BASED ON EXPERIENCE Responsibilities:
• Minimum one year of experience as a chairside dental assistant.
• Must be able to take radiographs.
• Must be comfortable working chairside with suctioning and other tasks.
• Experience with Dentrix is preferred.
• Front desk experience is preferred but not required; must be willing to learn.
• Must be willing and able to help with any task.

- Assist the dentist during exams and procedures, ensuring efficient four-handed dentistry
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials; maintain a clean and organized clinical environment
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and operatories in compliance with OSHA and CDC guidelines
- Take and process dental X-rays in accordance with state regulations
- Accurately chart patient information, treatment notes, and clinical records
- Provide patient education, post-operative instructions, and support to ensure comfort and understanding
- Greet patients warmly and manage check-in and check-out processes
- Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments to support efficient office flow
- Answer phones, respond to messages, and address patient questions professionally
- Verify insurance eligibility, submit claims, and follow up on outstanding insurance matters
- Collect copays and payments, post charges, and assist patients with billing and treatment plan questions
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Coordinate communication between front desk, clinical team, and providers
- Monitor and restock clinical and office supplies as needed
- Support overall office operations and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment
