Litigation Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney to join its Hartford, CT office. This role offers the chance to manage cases from inception through resolution, providing hands-on responsibility and direct client contact in a collaborative environment. Duties Manage a diverse caseload of civil defense matters from early assessment through resolution. Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, reports, and other litigation documents. Advise clients and insurers with clear, practical, and strategic recommendations. Conduct legal research and develop well-supported litigation strategies. Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, negotiations, and trial preparation. Requirements Admission to the Connecticut Bar and in good standing. 4+ years of experience in civil litigation, insurance defense, or defense-side trial practice. Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills. Sound judgment, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing deadlines. Confidence communicating with clients, colleagues, opposing counsel, and the court. Experience with depositions, contested hearings, mediations, or trials is a plus. Experience in products liability, construction defect, premises liability, professional liability, automobile, or trucking claims is helpful but not required. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications Admission to the Connecticut Bar. Skills Strong legal research and writing skills. Excellent analytical and oral advocacy skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
