Job Title: Senior Inspector - Geotechnical
Location: Parsippany, NJ

Type: Contract
Compensation: Hourly, $55-75
Contractor Work Model: Onsite/In the Field 95% of the time.
Hours: Standard Hours/Flexible 1st for Inspection

We’re seeking a Senior Geotechnical Inspector to oversee construction activities in the field and ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with engineering plans and codes. This role is highly hands-on, working outdoors on active construction sites, inspecting foundations, soils, utilities, concrete, and sitework installations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform geotechnical and construction special inspections

• Observe deep foundations, soil compaction, utilities, rebar, and concrete work

• Conduct field testing and collect samples for lab analysis

• Document daily site activities and prepare reports

• Review plans and verify measurements, elevations, and materials

• Support environmental monitoring and sampling

• Mentor junior staff and ensure all safety protocols are followed

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering; 8–10+ years of related experience

• NY Professional Engineer (PE) required

• OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER

• Experience with foundations, soils, utilities, sitework, and field testing

• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and lifting 50+ lbs

• Valid driver’s license; reliable transportation

• Familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Office, and construction documentation tools
