Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Welder, where you will skillfully assemble metal pieces and products using handheld welding equipment. You will set up parts for welding, utilizing hand tools, clamps, jigs, and fixtures, while working from specifications, drawings, and weld symbols. Your role will include preparing and completing work on materials by welding, cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal, with a focus on MIG welding on Mild Steel.

Responsibilities

• Assemble metal pieces and products using handheld welding equipment.

• Set up parts for welding using hand tools, clamps, jigs, and fixtures.

• Work from specifications, drawings, and weld symbols.

• Prepare and complete work on materials by welding, cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal.

• Perform MIG welding on Mild Steel.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in MIG welding.

• Experience with Mild Steel.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

• Skill in squaring up materials.

• Capability to perform a two-direction weld and fabrication.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in working in a manufacturing or plant environment is a plus.

Work Environment

Our workplace is a spacious, clean, brand-new building. While it is a non-climate controlled environment, we provide fans and heaters for comfort during summer and winter months. The work can be dirty at times, but it is rewarding, as it involves creating a variety of products with the potential for custom work. All necessary tools are provided.

This is a Contract position based out of Lexington, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
